The island

Anguilla is located in the eastern Caribbean, five miles north of St Martin, at 18.2 degrees north latitude and 63 degrees west longitude. The island is 16 miles long by three miles wide (35 sq miles / 91 sq km) with approximately 11,000 inhabitations. Anguilla, consists of coral rock and rich red earth, has a rather flat terrain with good leeward breezes. The Caribbean is home to 1,538 species of fish and 60 types of coral.
